Susan Ross is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA where she teaches courses on Family Sociology and Sociology of Gender. She received her Ph.D. from the University of New Hampshire and worked as a research assistant in the Family Violence Research Lab. She is the editor of the book, American Families Past and Present: Social Perspectives on Transformations (Rutgers University Press, in press). In addition to this book, she has published articles on corporal punishment, child abuse, and sociological pedagogy. Her current research project is a qualitative study of Army Reservists who have served back-to-back deployments following the events of September 11th and focuses on the family relations of these soldiers (co-investigated with Michael Musheno).
