Linda Nielsen is a nationally recognized expert on father-daughter relationships and psychology professor at Wake Forest University. Her most recent book is Embracing Your Father: How to Build the Relationship You Always Wanted with Your Dad (McGraw Hill, 2004). She also wrote How to Motivate Adolescents (Prentice Hall) and Adolescence: A Contemporary View (Harcourt Brace) which sold more than 80,000 copies. The recipient of the 1980 Writer's Award from the National Center for Women Scholars, she has written articles for numerous journals, including The Harvard Educational Review and The Journal of Divorce & Remarriage. Dr. Nielsen has been interviewed for articles in the Christian Science Monitor, Arizona Republic, Wilmington News Journal, Wall Street Journal, The Village Voice, Kalamazoo Gazette, Seventeen, Cosmopolitan, Heart & Soul, and East-West Woman. Her radio and television interviews include: NPR Frank Stasio "The State of Things", Glenn Sacks "His Side" Los Angeles, Steve Ashley "Divorced Dads Network" Santa Cruz, radio programs in Victoria, Winnipeg and Ontario, and FOX & NBC television. National organizations citing her work on their web sites include: Planned Parenthood Association, National Center for Fathering, National Fatherhood Initiative, Divorced Fathers Network, Fathers are Capable Too, Responsible Divorce Network, Military Wives, Father Magazine. She writes a monthly column on father-daughter relationships for the Stepfamily Association of America, National Men's Resource Center, and Parenting Bookmark.

Dr. Nielsen's newest book, Fathers and Daughters: Contemporary Research and Issues will be published by Routledge in the fall of 2011.
