Carole Joffe is author of Dispatches from the Abortion Wars: The Costs of Fanaticism to Doctors, Patients and the Rest of Us (Beacon Press, 2010) and numerous other publications on reproductive health services and politics. Besides writing for an academic audience, she also writes op-eds and blog posts for a general audience. She is a professor emerita of sociology at U.C. Davis and a professor at the Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health at U. California, San Francisco.
